KA MEA HOE WA'A

Tom's most recent work has been accepted
for inclusion in the
2017 BIG ART
outdoor sculpture exhibition in Hood River.

KA MEA HOE WA'A
(The Paddler)
was inspired by ancient Hawaiian petroglyphs.

In this case, The Paddler
takes on the contemporary sport of
standup paddle boarding,
popular in The Columbia River Gorge.

KEA MEA HOE WA'A
will soon be transported to Hood River for installation.
Until then, he is practicing his winter kayaking technique.
KA MEA HOE WA'A

It's been very cold and snowy here this past month.
From my window bed, I watch chickadees, finches,
quail, blue jays and hummingbirds at the feeders.

Recently, a wiley coyote has been lurking in the shadows
along the nearly frozen creek.
I think he is hungry.
I must be careful.

Stay safe and warm,
 JUNIOR BOY
