IN MEMORY OF A SCUBA DIVER
This spring, a new client asked
Tom to finish a bell and build a frame for it.
Scuba diving had been her late husband's passion.
Her husband's best friend had the tank cut and
gave her a steel coupling from a railroad engine
to use as a clapper in honor of his friend
who had been a railroad engineer.
Tom finished the bell and created a portable steel frame
so she could relocate it as her garden matured.
Now, each time she rings the bell, its warm tone
