Tom Herrera lives with his wife Margaret Haupt and their cats in Mosier, Oregon. After building his studio, Tom began designing and creating distinctive, custom metal work for homes and gardens. His specialty is whimsical and often, functional, pieces utilizing various types of recycled metals whenever possible. Tom has also collaborated with other artists incorporating ceramic mosaics & fused glass into his pieces. Tom considers his art to be successful if it makes the viewer smile.

Tom Herrera’s work has been displayed at the Columbia Art Gallery in Hood River, The Dalles Art Gallery, Trout Lake Arts Festival, Cracked Pots Garden Art Show in Portland and garden tours sponsored by the Columbia Gorge Master Gardeners. Permanent installations of Tom’s work are located at Maryhill Museum in Washington State, River City Bar & Grill in Yuma, Arizona, Mid-Columbia Medical Center in The Dalles, Oregon, Mosier Waterfront Park, Mosier, Oregon and Hood River Valley High School, Hood River, Oregon

Education
  • AA degree in Graphic Design from El Camino CollegeCompletion of a three-year apprenticeship at Chevron El Segundo Refinery leading to Certification as a Journeyman Boilermaker/ Welder
